The evidence that climate change is real

It's happening

Welcome to the first in our series of articles about climate change. In this article, we present the evidence that climate change is happening — right now.

Global average temperatures have risen by approximately 1.1°C above pre-industrial levels. The last decade was the warmest on record. Arctic sea ice is declining at an alarming rate. Sea levels are rising. Glaciers worldwide are retreating.

These aren't predictions — they're observed facts, measured by thousands of scientists using instruments on land, at sea, and in space. The data is unambiguous.

In our next articles, we'll explore who's causing it and what the consequences will be if we don't act. But the starting point is this: climate change is happening, and the evidence is overwhelming.
